“It is a society on life support.”

That’s a quote I read regarding Afghanistan today.
My sister’s former colleague, the Communications Officer at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon is in the midst of a shoe drive there, and we are very happy to hear it!
In the course of our communication, I learned of a professor at Lewis & Clark that spends four months out of the year in Afghanistan, generously giving his time and expertise to the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education.
You can view a slide show of his experience there and gain more insight into the serious deprivation of the Afghan people.
We commend you, Professor.
